Hello everyone,

In this class, you will learn the fundamentals of creating 3D models using polygonal modeling techniques. Video lectures will walk you through the various production techniques for creating both simple and complex forms.
Special note: 5 week individual training workshop is now closed, but video courses will still be available.

Class One
3D Modeling overview and basic introduction to modeling theory.
Talking about different modeling tecniques and edge flow examples with solutions.
Simple asset creation.
Private Discord discussion; 1 on 1 and/or group.
Class duration: 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Difficulty: Beginner.
Homework assignment (Estimated time to complete is 2 hours).
Class Two
Implementing theoretical examples from Class One into practice.
Simple to complex asset creation and design breakdown.
Discord discussion; 1 on 1 and/or group.
Class duration: 3 hours.
Difficulty: Beginner-Intermediate.
Homework assignment (Estimated time to complete is 3 hours).
Class Three
Hard surface robotic modeling – Part One;
Getting familiar with setting up concept idea for our robot.
Creating robotic block-out and setup for deisgn.
Design overview.
Discord discussion; 1 on 1 and/or group.
Class duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Difficulty: Beginner-Intermediate.
Homework assignment (Estimated time to complete is 3 hours).
Class Four
Hard surface robotic modeling – Part Two;
Introducing Subdivision surface in hard surface modeling.
Refining our robotic design and topology.
Modeling microdetails, finalization of our robotic deisgn.
Discord discussion; 1 on 1 and/or group.
Class duration: 6 hours and 30 minutes.
Difficulty: Intermediate-Advanced.
Final assignment:  If all assignments during this workshop were deliverend, you will be given a chance to put your skills into practice and create a portfolio-ready full scale 3D model based on a simple concept.

“I recently finished my first full character project. I started this robot about a month ago, right after I had finished Mario’s 3D workshop.

Mario helped me pick out a design and then I went through the same steps as in the workshop, but on my own.  Before starting the workshop, I had no real training in Cinema 4d other than the free content on Mario’s tutorial page.

Watching videos and tutorials only take you so far and what I really wanted was someone to review my work in a critical way and explain what I was doing wrong. I guess that is the main problem with tutorials; when it comes to creating your own work, it is hard to know when you make a mistake.

I really appreciated Mario’s systematic way of teaching modeling: starting with solving meshes, building kitbash assets, blockout and refinement. I think that going through this process in its entirety is really what helped me understand all the problems, or puzzles that we face as modelers.

Having finished this first character I already feel like I would do things differently, but it is only by going through this process that I see where I could improve.”
